JOIN THE HECTOR SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE!

Our Goals:
• Help reduce energy bills.
• Promote renewable energy.
• Understand the subtle growing effects of climate change.
• Be proactive in the likely possibility of increased floods, ice storms, high & low water tables and heat waves.

Accomplishments 2019-present:
• Worked to register the Town of Hector in NYS's Climate Smart Community program.
• Initiated and helped with the creation of Hector's Natural Resource Inventory, a compilation of existing natural/ecological resources that informs the municipality for planning purposes and grant potentials.
• Facilitated the Town of Hector's involvement with NYS's Clean Energy Communities Program which resulted in the award of a
$5,000 NYSERDA grant.
• Ran a successful Hector HeatSmart Campaign in which over 14 households benefited and another $5,000 in NYSERDA grant money was awarded.
• Currently participating in a Hector Community Solar Campaign which holds the potential of another $5,000 NYSERDA grant.
