Separated out from household recyclables.
Computer Equipment & Accessories, Televisions, VCRs, DVRs, Portable Digital Music Players, Cable or satellite receivers, Electronic or Video Game Consoles, Cell phones, Dehumidifiers, Humidifiers, Air Conditioners, Cameras, Medical Electronics, Wires, Cables, etc…
HARD PLASTIC RECYCLING
Must be clean. Goes in bins with regular household recycling.
Buckets, Baskets, Garbage Cans, Drums & Totes (cut in 1/2), Campaign Signs, Lawn Furniture, Pet Carriers (metal removed), Shelving, Water Cooler Bottles

DUMPSTER DAY
Once a year in May or June, the Town of Hector volunteers takes larger items that cannot be discarded through regular waste services such as appliances or mattresses. Drop off stations are set up at: Town Hall, VLH Fire Dept. and Mecklenburg Fire Dept.
FREE SWAP MEET
The day before and the day of Dumpster Day, free swap meets are held in order to re-purpose goods and divert them from the landfill.
